Since becoming Chief in August of 2007, we have made many changes to enhance the service the police department provides. We have a reporting system that is connected with the State of Ohio Department of Justice, which we submit our reports to on a monthly basis. By submitting the information, our department becomes eligible for state and federal grants which will assist us in purchasing needed equipment and to maintain the equipment we currently have. All of our officers have access to the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway, or OH-LEG, this access assist our officers with investigating crimes and minimizes officers leaving the village to get the information from the dispatch center. This access to these systems are free of charge and will remain free.

The department has a compliment of nine officers. The Chief is the only part time officer with the other eight as auxiliaries. All officers are required to put in a minimum of 16 hours a month, to maintain their certification as "peace officers". All of our officers are dedicated to the safety and security of all who live in and visit our community. When an officer receives a call from the community a call record will be completed and available for inspection. If you need a copy of a report, please send an email to me, buddah@edisonpolice.net and I will send a copy to you.

We are currently upgrading our computer system at the office and we recently had three computers donated by the 911 center. We are upgrading these computers so we can use them on a daily basis to assist us with investigations and records keeping.

With summer also comes zoning violations. Our office is dedicated to enforcing the zoning ordinances of the village. We will be assisting Zoning Inspector Greg Bunker with this task. Parties in question will be issued a 30 day notice, if the properties are not within ordinance within that time, citations will be issued and the offender will be required to appear in Mayors Court. You can pick up a copy of the Edison Village Zoning Ordinance at the clerks office located at the municipal building.

I will be updating this forum from time to time, so please check back often. Again, thank you for looking at our site. We established this site to assist the community with contact names and numbers for council members and for services that the Village provides. If you have a question or suggestions, please feel free to email me or call me direct at 614-206-2751.
